Effective Evidence-based Treatment for OCD/Anxiety Disorders in Music City
About Emily:
I am a licensed professional counselor in Nashville, TN (LPC-MHSP). I have a BS in Human Development and Family Sciences with a specialization in Middle Childhood Education from The Ohio State University (2014). During my undergraduate degree I was a cheerleader for OSU for all 4 years. Following undergrad, I worked as a behavior coach in Metro-Nashville schools while working as a part-time personal trainer before attending graduate school. I received my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specialization in play therapy and expressive arts from Lipscomb University (2018). I have experience working with children as young as 7, teens, and adults. I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I have presented at local schools, the International OCD Foundation, and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. When I’m not at work, I enjoy running half and full marathons and exploring the outdoors with my two kids. I believe in doing hard things and taking on challenges. Its important to me to understand the whole person, not just the presenting issues. I am personable, encouraging, and creative and bring that into the therapy room with me.
